I am currently developing multiple projects in adult fiction - while building a long-term career rooted in dark storytelling and immersive worlds.
I Draw My Inspiration From...
The quiet places - South Africa’s landscapes, with their vast silences, dramatic contrasts, immense beauty and long histories shape my love of atmosphere and unease.
Family remains a steady anchor in my life and writing - offering support and the occasional reminder to step away from the keyboard.
And then there is Harley Davidson, the chihuahua, who believes he is much larger and far more intimidating than the Big Five animals that surrounds me. As my constant writing companion, Harley supervises long hours at the desk, guards the house from warthogs, black-backed jackels, lions and elephants. He contributes moral support in exchange for snacks and cuddles.
While Maggie does the incredible work on the ground, I work mainly behind the scenes, taking care of the Foundation’s administration and helping with its marketing, correspondence and online presence.
The Foundation currently focuses particularly on pensioners relying on SASSA, single mothers and fathers, and families who have suddenly found themselves struggling after the main breadwinner has lost their job. It provides food parcels, essential groceries, meals and practical support to families across the South Coast.
It’s very different from my world of books and writing - but it’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of.
